Public holidays in November 2024: See the full list here

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced the list of public holidays for November 2024. There are many public holidays per month, which means you should check the list to plan your visits accordingly. Banks are expected to be closed for a total of 13 days next month.

The list of holidays includes regional festivals, events and other celebrations and varies accordingly. This list also includes all Sundays and the second and fourth Saturdays. Customers are advised to plan their visit to avoid last-minute rush or confusion. While physical branches are closed, digital banking services will continue to operate as usual.

The RBI determines holidays under three different categories: Negotiable Instruments Act, Holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act and Real Time Gross Payment Holiday and Account Closing by Banks.

List of public holidays in November:

November 1: Banks will remain closed in Tripura, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Sikkim and Manipur due to Diwali Amavasya (Laxmi Pujan)/Deepawali/Kut/Kannada Rajyothsava/Govardhan Pooja.

November 2: On the occasion of Diwali (Bali Pratipada)/Balipadyami/Laxmi Puja (Deepawali)/Govardhan Pooja/Vikram Samvant New Year’s Day, banks will remain closed in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.

7 November: Banks will remain closed in a few states, including Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand, on account of Chhath (Evening Arghya).

8 November:

In some states like Bihar, Jharkhand and Meghalaya, banks will remain closed due to Chhath (Sabah Arghya)/Wangala Festival.

12 November: Banks will remain closed in Uttarakhand due to Egaas-Bagwaal.

15 November: On the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti/Karthika Purnima/Rahas Purnima, banks will remain closed in some places like Mizoram, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Hyderabad – Telangana, Arunachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jammu, Uttar Pradesh, Nagaland, Bengal, New Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh and Srinagar.

18 November: All banks in Karnataka will remain closed on the occasion of Kanakadasa Jayanti.

November 23: Banks in Meghalaya will remain closed on the occasion of Seng Kutsnem.

Sunday: 3, 10, 17, 24 November

Second Saturday: 9 November

Fourth Saturday: November 23
