It looked like someone was filming a scene for a heist movie.

It was crazy what was going on in this Brampton neighborhood.

An attempted robbery, a carjacking, a police pursuit and the arrest of a suspect. And of course, there was an open safe left at the targeted home, which police said displayed more than $100,000 in cash.

Video of the chaos shows a Peel Regional Police cruiser crashing into the back of a pickup truck.

An alleged home invader went outside and started running and was immediately chased by a cop who emerged from his cruiser with his gun drawn.

He ran away, chasing after the police officer.

The driver of the truck he hit tried to escape the area by making a 3-point turn. The truck, which overturned the garbage container, managed to escape from the scene.

The police car pursued the fleeing vehicle, but the police officer behind the wheel decided to remain at the scene alone.

Within minutes, police had the suspect in handcuffs. While the other two suspects fled the scene, the investigation continues.

However, the best part is that while the alleged thieves were taking out a safe full of money from the house, they did not manage to put the money in the truck, thanks to the quick intervention of the police.

It was a clear sight showing many banknotes and some lying on the grass. While it was reported on social media that the safe contained $1 million in cash, police sources say it was “in the six figures.”

The money was returned to a homeowner who may no longer wish to keep it in his home.

Police are investigating the incident from A to Z.

“There were no reports of physical injuries,” police said, “and our Division 21 Criminal Investigation Bureau took over the investigation.” he said.

Calling it a “brazen crime,” Peel Deputy Chief Marc Andrews commended the officers for acting coolly in a very difficult situation that could have turned out much worse.

Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown also had praise for Peel police officers.

“This was a high-risk environment for the police, with criminals crashing their cars,” the mayor said. “This shows the danger police face every day. “I am grateful to them for their unwavering commitment to public safety.”
