Mangaluru: Srinivas University Institute organizes dental examination program

Mangaluru, 30 October: The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of BBA department organized a successful dental examination program at Srinivas University on 22 October. The aim of the event was to spread awareness about the importance of oral health and provide free dental examinations to students.

Gopika gave an enlightening presentation focusing on dental hygiene and preventive care, highlighting the long-term benefits of regular dental care. Following the presentation, more than 70 students from BBA Fintech and hospital management attended free dental examinations performed by five specialist dentists from the university’s dentistry department.

In addition to dental checkups, Gopika and her team hosted an interactive session that addressed common dental problems and encouraged discussions on maintaining a healthy mouth. Students learned about proper tooth brushing and flossing techniques, the role of nutrition in dental health, and preventive measures for common oral problems such as tooth decay and gum diseases. The session also highlighted how maintaining good oral health can contribute to overall well-being.

The participation of 70 students was commendable, along with faculty members and NSS volunteers who worked together to ensure smooth coordination of the event. Dental experts offered their valuable services to all participants, making the event a multi-faceted education and health-focused initiative. As a result, the program successfully achieved its goals by raising awareness about dental health and providing necessary care to students, thanks to the joint efforts of the NSS unit, faculty members and dental professionals.

The session was organized under the guidance of Dr Venkatesh S Amin – dean, Prof Shilpa K – BBA HOD, Prof Shwetha NS – BBA course coordinator, Prof Bharathi and Prof S Seethalaxmi – NSS coordinators.
