Kamala Harris promises ‘consensus’, calls Trump ‘little tyrant’

Vice President Kamala Harris has vowed to “compromise” with her political opponents if elected president, while also labeling her Republican rival, former President Donald Trump, a “little bully.”

During her speech, Harris vowed to work with both major parties on policy issues and said she would “build consensus” and “reach compromises” to “get things done.”

“Even if you don’t vote for me, I will always listen to you,” he said. “I will work with everyone. Democrats, Republicans and independents to help Americans who are working hard and still trying to get ahead.”

Harris accused Trump of being “unstable” and “obsessed with revenge” and claimed the former president would use the US military against his political enemies if re-elected.

The claim cited a recent interview on Fox News in which Trump spoke of the “enemy within” and suggested using U.S. armed forces to deal with them.

“There are some very bad people among us. We have some sick people, radical left lunatics.” Trump stated. “I think these are big ones and should be easily handled by the National Guard if necessary or the military if it’s really necessary because they can’t let this happen.”

During her speech, Harris called Trump a “petty tyrant” who “wanted unchecked power” and claimed that Trump “spent a decade trying to keep the American people divided and afraid of each other.”

“As Americans, we rise together and fall together,” he added. “We have been consumed by too much division, chaos and mutual distrust for too long. “So it can be easy to forget a simple truth: it doesn’t have to be this way.”

Harris has focused on other issues as well, promising to support the child tax credit, make child care more affordable, build millions of new homes, advance immigration reform and sign a bill legalizing abortion nationwide.

According to a report released last month by the Freedom Forum, nearly half of Americans surveyed believe Trump is a “threat” to the First Amendment, while 37% said the same about Harris.
