Bangor man arrested on arson and domestic violence charges

BANGOR, Maine (WABI) – A Bangor man was arrested on domestic violence and arson charges.

Bangor Police say 38-year-old Paul O’Neal was arrested Sunday after a fight broke out and a tent was set on fire.

Authorities responded to the area of ​​Union Street and Sunset Avenue just before midnight Saturday.

Police said the victim said he was attacked by O’Neal, who then set fire to his tent, threw propane canisters into the flames and fled.

The explosion is said to have been heard a mile away.

The victim said he suffered minor injuries.

O’Neal was located around noon and taken to the Penobscot County Jail.
