Smith Co. man arrested for allegedly stabbing his father

RALEIGH, Miss. (WDAM) – A Smith County man was arrested for allegedly stabbing his father Friday night, Oct. 25.

22-year-old Margro Suntarine Perkins Jr. He was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.

According to Raleigh Police Chief Joe Blakeney, an altercation occurred at a homecoming party at Turner Chapel Park shortly after Raleigh’s victory.

Police arrived within minutes and found Margro Suntarine Perkins, Sr. with multiple stab wounds.

Officers located Perkins Jr. walking down the road with a knife in his pocket and took him into custody.

The person who was referred to the courthouse for aggravated assault was taken into custody.

Judge David Easterling set Perkins Jr.’s bond at $40,000 in Raleigh Municipal Court on Monday, Oct. 28.

Perkins, Sr. is in stable condition.

Ole Miss linebacker Suntarine Perkins is the suspect’s younger brother and was not involved in the crime in any way, according to Blakeney.
