Priest Lawrence Tetteh apologizes to the University of Ghana

Founder of Worldwide Miracle Outreach, Rev. Dr. Lawrence Tetteh has apologized to the University of Ghana following comments he made on the GTV Breakfast Show on Thursday, October 24, 2024.

Priest Dr. In a statement on October 29, Tetteh expressed regret for his comments, which, in his opinion, were not intended to undermine the university, spread fear, stigmatize or misinform the public.

Speaking on GTV’s Breakfast Programme, the famous man of God stated that the prevalence of HIV infection among university students is high.

“The number of HIV positive girls and boys in Legon would give you the biggest shock of your life. “It’s sad, it’s sad, and I’m happy to say it on national television,” he said.

“Some of these young boys and girls already on campus are living promiscuous lives and are already infected with HIV/AIDS. “These are the people I pray for… and I’m not talking about 10 years, 5 years,” the pastor added.

However, in a press release dated October 24, 2024, the University stated that Rev. He described Tetteh’s remarks as “unfounded, insensitive and disappointing”, adding that his claims lacked any data-based evidence and risked promoting fear, stigma and misinformation.

The university found his claim unacceptable and demanded an apology.
