Kamala Harris Draws Tens of Thousands as She Presents ‘Closing Arguments’ of the 2024 Campaign

Here in the United States, Kamala Harris gave the last major speech of her presidential campaign. On Tuesday, Harris gathered tens of thousands of her supporters on the National Mall for a “closing argument” in which she called herself a “protector” of US democracy and warned of the threat of a second term from Trump.

Vice President Kamala Harris: “Those who came before us, the patriots in Normandy and Selma, at Seneca Falls, at Stonewall, in the farmlands and factories, did not struggle and sacrifice and lay down their lives just to see us give up our basic freedoms. “They didn’t do this just to see us bow to the will of another petty tyrant.”

Harris spoke from the Ellipse on January 6, 2021, where Trump incited a group of supporters to attack the Capitol to overturn the certification of Joe Biden’s Electoral College victory. Harris’ campaign said 75,000 people attended Tuesday night’s event; this was significantly larger than Trump’s rally before the insurrection.
