Confirmed gang member arrested by Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office

COLUMBUS, GA. (WRBL) — On Tuesday, the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a confirmed gang member wanted in two states.

Ricardo Samayoa was arrested as part of a joint operation involving the Columbus Police Department, the United States Marshal Service and the FBI. According to the sheriff’s office, Samayoa was a confirmed gang member and was also wanted by multiple agencies for various violent crimes in two states.

Samayoa was arrested on the following charges:

  • Felony Assault – 12 Counts

  • Heavy Penalty Damage to Property 2nd Degree – 2 Pieces

  • Armed Robbery with a Firearm

  • Crime Aggravated Assault with Intent to Commit a Crime

  • Felony Grand Theft

  • Felony Violation of Parole – 2 Counts

The Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office said Samayoa was wanted in connection with a shooting on Cusseta Road. school bus caught in crossfire. Samayoa was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Muscogee County Jail, the office said.

The sheriff’s office said the case is still under investigation and Samayoa may face additional felony and misdemeanor charges.
