3 people arrested in connection with shooting at Arizona Mills Mall in September

TEMPE, AZ — Tempe police announced the arrest of three people in connection with a shooting at Arizona Mills Mall last month.

Around 7:30 p.m. September 13Police said an argument broke out between two groups in the dining area. The argument led to a shooting at the mall, but no one was injured.

On Tuesday evening authorities announced the following arrests of three people:

A. 16 years old The suspect was arrested for the following reasons:

  • Four counts of Aggravated Assault, a class 3 felony.
  • Two counts of Endangerment, a class 6 felony.
  • One count of Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm, a class 6 felony.
  • One count of Disorderly Conduct, a class 6 felony.
  • One Count of Misdemeanor Possession of a Firearm, a class 6 felony.

19 years old Gabriel Victor Garcia was arrested for the following reasons:

  • Four counts of Aggravated Assault, a class 3 felony.
  • One count of Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm, a class 6 felony.
  • Two counts of Endangerment, a class 6 felony.
  • One count of Disorderly Conduct, a class 6 felony.

22 years old Marvin Hooks was arrested for:

  • 1 count of Conspiracy, a class 3 felony.

Police said 12 bullet casings were found in the dining area. The incident prompted law enforcement to conduct multiple searches of the mall.
