Darryl Johnson and Tarika Gilbert face multiple drug-related charges

LIMESTONE CO., Ala. (WAFF) – Two people were arrested following a drug raid in Athens on Monday.

The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division (CID), Narcotics Section and SWAT Team executed a search warrant at a home on Beech St.

This order was a result of CID and Narcotics Investigators working together on fentanyl overdose death investigations.

During the search, investigators seized drugs and drug paraphernalia from the home where 49-year-old Darryl Johnson and 34-year-old Tarika Gilbert were taken into custody.

Johnson was charged with Drug Trafficking – Fentanyl, Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance – Fentanyl, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Marijuana – 2nd Degree.

Gilbert was charged with Drug Trafficking – Possession of Fentanyl, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Marijuana – 2nd Degree.

Bond has not been set for either Johnson or Gilbert.
