BAYSHORE enforces Parental Guidance Required Policy

BAYSHORE announced on Tuesday, October 29, that it will implement the Parental Guidance Required (PGR) Policy, effective Friday, November 1, 2024.

The features of the BAYSHORE PGR Policy are as follows:

After 15.00 on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays

  1. Visitors 17 years of age and younger must be accompanied by a parent or supervising adult 21 years of age or older at all times after 3pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Parental Guidance Required hours may vary throughout the holiday season.
  2. Youth found unsupervised on property before 3pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday must leave the mall by 3pm or be immediately accompanied by a parent or supervising adult 21 or older.
  3. Proof of age may be required for the youth and/or parent/supervising adult. Those with incorrect identification will be asked to leave the property.
  4. Valid identification includes a government-issued driver’s license or ID card, military ID, school ID card, or passport. The ID must be tamper-proof and include a photo and date of birth.
  5. One adult 21 years of age or older may accompany up to four youth. All accompanied youth must remain with the supervising adult at all times.
  6. Supervising adults aged 21 and over are responsible for the actions of the young people they accompany.

Guests who do not act responsibly or follow the rules Bayshore Code of Conduct They will be asked to leave. If they fail or refuse to leave the property, they may be arrested and prosecuted for trespassing.

BAYSHORE is committed to providing a warm and comfortable environment for all who visit. We are following in the footsteps of other centers across the country that have successfully implemented Parental Guidance Required policies to continue to provide a welcoming and pleasant experience for shoppers and diners.

Is BAYSHORE implementing this policy in response to a specific incident?

We have decided to proactively enforce this policy to ensure an enjoyable experience for our visitors, and it is not a response to a specific incident.

So what about people under the age of 17 who work at BAYSHORE?

Store employees 17 and under may continue to work in stores during Parental Guidance Required (PGR) Policy hours. Store employees 17 and under must comply with the policy and leave the store if their shift ends within policy hours.

How will the policy be implemented?

We are working with our Security team to implement a plan and protocol for implementation. As an open-air mall with multiple entry points, we will maintain signage at all main entrances reminding visitors of the policy and the hours it applies. At the discretion of security personnel, users may be asked to show identification to prove their age. Those unable to produce proper identification will be asked to leave the property.

Will this policy be permanent?

We have no plans to remove the policy at this time. Parental Guidance Required Policy dates and times may be changed by BAYSHORE management.

What buildings, grounds and areas does this policy apply to?

This policy will apply to the entire BAYSHORE property, including buildings, roads, common areas and parkland.

How will this apply to ACX and movie hours during policy hours?

ACX Cinemas Entertainment Center welcomes guests 17 and under to watch movies during regular business hours. Guests 17 and under arriving on property to attend a movie must immediately enter the Rotunda and present their purchased movie ticket or intend to purchase a movie ticket from ACX. Guests will be immediately escorted directly to ACX for their movie experience.
